Tarpan was awarded a 1st-tier subcontract agreement from Phylway Construction, LLC for this contract. Tarpan self-performed the 525,125 CY of semi-compacted embankment on this project. The semi-compacted item alone was 39% of our contract. Tarpan is proud to highlight this project. During the peak of our operations, we had a crew of 18-22 employees and a fleet of over 16 pieces of heavy equipment on site.  MRL414 had four government-furnished borrow pits. Just like any project, there were challenges; weather and high river are always at the top of the list on MRL Projects.  Additional items of work performed by Tarpan:  Levee Surfacing; Five cattle guards fabricated, painted, and installed; Four 24” culverts installed connecting ditch 1 and 2 along reach landside berm; Water control structures in 3 pits; Relief well ditches and ditches along reach 3 and 4 landside berms. The project was completed and accepted by the USACE on July 19, 2024.  Tarpan logged over 52,000 exposure hours with no incidents, accidents, or lost time.
