This was Tarpan's 1st MRL project, and we are proud of its successful completion. It was an IFB Small Business Set-aside, and Tarpan managed all work from start to finish. We oversaw all aspects of safety, quality control, and embankment testing. Overall, Tarpan self-performed 35% of the work on this project, including all pit clearing and grubbing, which totaled approximately 100 acres. We spread and compacted 8,790 tons of Levee Surfacing per the specifications. Additionally, we constructed an extension to the landside berm as a modification and installed the cattle guard. Tarpan gained invaluable knowledge and experience from MRL416. After completing this project, we found that levee enlargement projects suit our capabilities well. We set self-performing embankment items as our next major milestone. USACE Vidailia Area Office accepted all work, including turfing, on July 5, 2023.
