On May 21, 2018, SBA welcomed Tarpan Construction, LLC. as a member of their HubZone Program. Tarpan owner, Trudy Poret, worked on preparing and submitting the application. The government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones.
It also gives preferential consideration to those businesses in full and open competition. Joining the HUBZone program makes your business eligible to compete for the program’s
set-aside contracts. HUBZone-certified businesses also get a 10 percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions. HUBZone-certified businesses can still compete for contract awards under other socio-economic programs they qualify for.
The newly received HubZone certification is expected to be used by Tarpan to continue its steady and positive growth and to further expand its defense and non-defense Federal government marketplace, with special emphasis on the various Federal government agencies in Louisiana and surrounding areas.
